LaBoca

The LaBoca district of Buenos Aries is the poorest neighbourhood yet it's found a unique way to attract tourists. All the houses are painted in vibrant hues, many are decorated with carved figures & elaborately hand painted signs. It's possibly the most colourful neighbourhood in the world!

Diego Maradona grew up in this area & it's home to the Boca Juniors football team & their stadium.

These pathetic critters were hanging on the wall of a LaBoca restaurant that we ate in. Meanwhile a couple danced the tango on the street outside for money.

Que bueno que viniste! Or welcome back in Argentinian spanish. Have you lost the last of your silver dollars in Las Vegas? Did you marry to any dancer?

Hola Joan, we miss you in Camden amigo - when do you return? Leo's left too now forever! I didn't go to Vegas with the boys, it was Matt Cruickshank, Gerby & Stef from Disney who went.

Upps! I saw a "Matt" in gerben's blog talking about vegas and I suposed it was you, I don't know why. Maybe because the vegas style suits you ;)

Well, sometimes I miss being on camden too. Here in this small island the world runs in slow motion compared to the frenzy london, but I really enjoy life here. I don't know when I'll be back but I'll let you know when it happens. Meanwhile take care and don't abuse of all this extra time in the pub you londoners have now.

I had a thought that your travels reminded me of.
My mother and granny are from Manchester.
When my granny was a little girl during the 20s, they had an adjective for anything outlandish or strange - the word was Peruvian.
This is because at the time, Peru was the furthest away, most remote place they could possibly think of (they all moved to Australia which is ironic).
To this day if anything is spotted that's a little peculiar, or someone is being hoity toity, my family will describe it as Peruvian.
Cheers.

Sweet story Elliot, thanks. My idea of 'remote' would now bw 'Tasmanian'!
